April 2022;  This August, guests staying at Anse Chastanet Resort can learn more about Saint Lucia’s spectacular underwater world with lectures by marine life expert Mickey Charteris, in partnership with the resort’s PADI 5* diving operation Scuba St. Lucia. With more than 20 years of experience in  Caribbean waters, Mickey Charteris will host complimentary talks to educate resort guests on the fascinating underwater world located around the resort in the southern corner of the island.   These informative, fun lectures are available to divers and non-divers alike.  Scuba divers might experience first-hand the natural spectacle of the annual coral spawning.

Mickey Charteris will be guest lecturer at Anse Chastanet Resort and Scuba St.Lucia from August 13-27, 2022.  Featuring daily presentations and workshops, guests will learn about the art of underwater photography, understanding feeding strategies, fish friendships and even reproductive strategies of the species that inhabit the reef. Mickey’s book ‘Caribbean Reef Life’ has sold over 100,000 copies and is now in its third edition.

Scuba divers who stay at Anse Chastanet between 21st-23rd August might experience the beauty of the annual Coral Spawning, an unforgettable natural spectacle. Mickey Charteris will be on-hand to answer guests’ questions and explain the importance of this annual event in maintaining the future of the ecosystem.

During their stay, guests can partake in other resort activities, whether they are on land or at sea. The pristine reefs just off shore start in shallow waters so that they can also be enjoyed by snorkelers.  For relaxation, visit the resort spa or enjoy the 2 beautiful soft sand beaches and look for the famous “green flash” at sunset. Scuba diving packages can be added to all reservations. A 6 dive package for certified divers starts at US 225 plus 10% service charge and 10% VAT.
Special night dives will be offered on Coral Spawning nights. Night dives are charged at USD $64 plus a coral spawning surcharge of US 30 applies per dive, subject to 10% service charge and 10% VAT for each night dive, payable locally. A marine park fee of US 15 is payable locally.
