OK, we get it; you’re here for the “two Ps.” The Pitons and the private pools in our sanctuaries are two of our biggest assets here at Jade Mountain. Who can fail to be awed by those splendid spires rising from the sea? And who wouldn’t agree that they’re best viewed from your private pool?
But some of our guests are so wowed by our three-walled cloisters that they forget that apart from the “two Ps,” they also have access to the “two Bs:” the pair of beaches just down the hill at our sister hotel Anse Chastanet and neighboring Anse Mamin.
Carpeted with brown-sugar sands and backed by stands of towering coconut palms, Anse Chastanet is the classic Caribbean beach. Here you can dip your toes in warm clear water; laze in a chaise or a low-slung hammock; or opt for more active pursuits such as snorkeling or diving the thriving reef just offshore. And if you get thirsty, you’re just a few steps away from Trou Au Diable bar, where there’s a Coco Doux coconut cocktail with your name on it.
Over at neighboring Anse Mamin, you’ll find seaside serenity under a cluster of thatched palapas spread along this intimate strand. Just a couple of minutes by boat taxi from Anse Chastanet (or a leisurely seven-minute stroll), this beauty borders a colonial-era cocoa plantation, lush with tropical trees, flowers and birds. If you want to while away a few hours with a good book or go for a secluded stroll with your sweetie, this beach, fringed with leaning palms, is the one for you.
And when, at the end of the day, you’ve soaked up all the seaside fun and your sun-baked skin is telling you you’ve had enough, take comfort in the fact that you still have two more reasons to be happy: those Pitons and that private pool.
